Zero Tolerance Harassment Policy
The Upstate NY Comic Con’s goal is to create a safe and inviting experience where fans of all backgrounds can come together at one place. We aim to protect every single individual who enters our show, and a measure to ensure safety is having a zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind.
“Harassment includes, but is not limited to; making unwanted and/or discriminatory advances on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, physical appearance, age, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable federal or state laws, intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcomed sexual attention or other verbal or physical conduct of a discriminatory nature, or by creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment by engaging in such conduct.”
While attending our show, if you feel you are being harassed, witness someone else being harassed, or have any other concerns, locate a UNYCC volunteer immediately. (having a UNYCC volunteer Logo Shirt). Upstate NY Comic Con volunteers has the ability to contact security or police and assist those feeling they have experienced harassment to ensure they feel safe for the duration of the show.
“No individual shall be intimidated, threatened, coerced, or discriminated against for filing a complaint, furnishing information, or for participating in any manner in an investigation or any other activity related to the administration of the laws and regulations and/or this policy to ensure the appropriate treatment of all who come to the Upstate NY Comic Conn.”
The Upstate NY Comic Con volunteers and promoters has sole discretion in determining what constitutes harassment under this policy and reserves the right to take immediate action against anyone who violates this policy, up to and including expulsion from the show (with no refund).
All Attendees, Exhibitors, Sponsors, Associates, and Guests of the Upstate NY Comic Con are subject to this zero tolerance harassment policy for the duration of the entirety of the event.
